Midas Whale Recovered Signal Archive

History / Public Record

Timeline

The public history of Midas Whale does not begin with Berachain. It begins with the alias how1337itis in 2011, a Dead-centered X account in 2015, and a long progression through crypto, NFTs, community building, and AI-assisted tooling.

2011

The alias how1337itis appears on dBpoweramp audio forums, troubleshooting high-channel FLAC conversion. This is the earliest known public signal and predates crypto entirely.

2015 to 2017

The X account is created on December 31, 2015 during a Dead & Company New Year's Eve show. The first tweet is a Periscope from the show. In 2017, a CryptoKitty purchase becomes the earliest verifiable onchain artifact in the identity trail.

2021

The account returns after years of near silence and moves through BSC rugs, airdrop farming, and the 3D FrankenPunks community. This is the first full NFT-era chapter and includes a substantial Dead lot family thread about getting pinned.

2022

The degen awakening. Canto becomes a major ecosystem chapter. Wassie and smolting culture move from adjacent to foundational. The first Berachain mention appears in October 2022. The broke-but-funny persona becomes fully legible in the archive.

2023

Grinding and building in public. Canto remains central. There is a visible job-search crisis, deeper DeFi commentary, and stronger community relationships. The pool hall meetup that later becomes a key Berachain friendship happens in February 2023.

2024

The rebrand happens on June 10, 2024: @how1337itis becomes @themidaswhale and the Midas Whale persona takes the front position. A crypto job briefly lands in August. The retirement bit appears in October, but the posting never actually stops.

Late 2024 also includes Devcon Bangkok, a phone lost in a river in Thailand, and the weirdness intensifying without breaking continuity.

2025

The builder phase accelerates. Berachain mainnet launches. Midas Whale launches a token on day one via Kodiak's Panda Factory, pushes NFA Bears harder, and starts describing the workflow as vibe coding.

GitHub work expands, AI tooling becomes part of the persona, and the same account that lived in the reply trenches starts building systems around Mibera, Deadhead memory, and project infrastructure.

2026

The bus is still rolling. Posting continues. NFA Bears remains in the grassroots build phase. Claude-assisted building becomes explicit. The Deadhead thread never disappears.
