The Midas Whale name came from mishearing the Grateful Dead song title `Might as Well` at a Stu Allen show in Berkeley.

The canon turns that naming moment into a myth about King Midas, Owsley Stanley's LSD, a time-traveling sperm whale, and a broke whale-blue monarch who wakes up in the modern era.
