Whose words? Whose machinery?
Herman Melville wrote the prose. Grouper authored the erasure rule, interface and code with an AI model. No runtime model calls. The default edition selects exactly 50,000 original word occurrences, not 50,000 newly written words.
Source: Project Gutenberg eBook 2701, prepared by Daniel Lazarus, Jonesey and David Widger. Moby-Dick (1851) is public domain in the USA; check local law elsewhere. No institutional endorsement. Original source with full license.
Original code/interface: MIT license. Build source · HTML template · Tests · 50,000-word erasure · Original README · Original build manifest.
The hosted instrument and ZIP are byte-identical to the exercised original. Their local-artifact wording and build metadata describe that earlier build; this page records public hosting, not event participation. This is NOT a NaNoGenMo entry. Downloads and operator QA are not audience proof. The meaningful test is voluntary rescue receipts or remixes; none is claimed here.
The instrument is offline-capable and contains no analytics or network calls. Existing site analytics elsewhere are unchanged.
